The Story Behind This Collection
As a decathlete at the University of Notre Dame, Justin Schneider wanted to learn about engineering athletic footwear so he could make a better track spike. After working his way into an internship – and eventually a job – with Adidas, Justin realized the real need wasn’t in athletic shoes, but redesigning the modern dress shoe. He set out to find a way to use his knowledge of athletic shoes to make the men’s dress shoe lighter, sleeker, and more comfortable. The result is Wolf & Shepherd, a forward thinking company that got Justin recently named to Forbes’ coveted 30 under 30 list. Like Forbes, we were so impressed with the way Justin thinks, and his resulting work, that we asked him to work with us on bringing his approach to hardwood flooring.
