Built in 1776, the Griswold Inn was established in Essex, Connecticut after the colony was authorized to build the warship for the Revolution. Essex turned out to be the perfect location for such a shipbuilding operation, and such saw an economic boom. The Griswold Inn was established to house and feed the many workers who moved to the area. After the war, the inn still served many travelers and seafarers who passed through the area. This wide plank wire brushed distressed engineered white oak has a rich brown color with a hint of red designed to make any space feel warmer, like the great room fireplace after a day at sea.
