Located on the south face of Mount Hood is the famous Timberline Lodge. Finished in 1938, the lodge was built to provide work to hundreds of local laborers and artists during the Great Depression. The result is a breathtaking structure and several works of art. Although it fell into decline and closed in 1955, the hard work, sacrifice, and dedication of operator Richard Kohnstamm saw it restored and reopened, and continues to operate successfully today. This natural 4 1/4” solid smooth maple has bight and versatile look that would feel right at home in this mountain lodge.
