Also known as La Citadelle, the Citadelle of Quebec is the oldest military building in Canada. After the Americans invaded Canada during the War of 1812, the British decided to ramp up their defensive tactics by building this now historic fortress. The Citadelle is still an active military institution today and serves as housing for the Canadian Monarch and Governor General of Canada.
